The Hotwell Pulsed Neutron-Neutron (PNN) System is setting a standard for pulsed neutron logging all over the world.

The 1 11/16” tool can serve as either a Warrior ™ based system, or can be run on most existing wireline units using the proprietary Hotwell Portable System.

The PNN uses a Neutron Capture / Decay measurement that provides SIGMA, Porosity and Gas Detection in environments that often are detrimental to a classic Capture tool. It’s virtual immunity to background gamma radiation makes it an ideal tool for work over and older fields, where NORM becomes an issue.

With the PNN comes the support of the famous Hotwell Petrophysical Staff to provide analysis and experience for projects the world over. The staff includes Engineers, Geologists and Petrophysicists from across the globe, and a database containing thousands of wells.

Hotwell not only provides the tools and technical support you need, but helps you to see the campaign through to the final analysis of the data. The support helps your clients make the right decision. Below is an example of the PNN in action.

PNN True Story : Missed Oil Sand

This is an example of a PNN logged in the Gulf Coast Area. The original OH log showed three lobes of Oil in the bottom of the well. The client chose to produce the lowest first.

After several years of production, water cut increased. A Competitor wireline completely missed the top lobe. (Blue Arrow) and it could not completely determine the extent of water in the lowest lobe (Red Arrow).

The PNN went in without having to shut the well in and not only determined water in the lower zone, but saw the missed upper zone.
